SLIDING
Large glazed panels glide effortlessly on precision tracks, creating seamless indoor-outdoor connections without requiring external clearance space.
Perfect for patios, gardens, and terraces where space is at a premium, our sliding doors operate at the touch of a finger. Multi-point locking and advanced weathersealing ensure security and thermal performance while your interiors are flooded with natural light.
BI-FOLD
Multiple panels fold concertina-style to create expansive openings, transforming entire walls into open-air connections with your outdoor spaces.
When you want to completely open up a room to the outdoors, bi-fold doors deliver unmatched flexibility. Available as inward or outward opening systems, panels fold neatly to one or both sides, creating openings limited only by structural considerations.
FRONT
Make a lasting first impression with entrance doors that combine security, thermal performance, and stunning design to welcome guests in style.
Available as solid panels or part-glazed to flood entrance halls with natural light, our entrance doors set the tone for your entire home. Advanced locking systems, weather sealing, and thermal breaks ensure performance matches the impressive aesthetics.
FRENCH
Classic French doors bring timeless elegance with twin opening panels, creating graceful transitions to gardens, patios, and outdoor living spaces.
The epitome of classic style, French doors feature two panels that open outward or inward to create elegant outdoor access. As fully-glazed entrance doors, they're also available as single doors for smaller openings, providing flexible access and natural light.

What is the difference between a standard sliding door and a lift-and-slide door?
A standard sliding door moves laterally on fixed tracks throughout; a lift-and-slide door rises off its compression seals before sliding, then drops back into a compressed seal on closing.
Lift-and-slide doors support larger panel sizes and can be locked partially open for ventilation without compromising security. Both can be specified to Passive House thermal performance standards.
For coastal or exposed locations, the S319A inline slider achieves watertightness to EN 12208 Class E1350.
Can sliding doors achieve Passive House U-values?
Lift-and-slide door systems can achieve the U-values and airtightness required for Passive House certification.
The compression-seal mechanism substantially reduces air infiltration, and triple-glazed units in thermally efficient timber-aluminium frames can achieve whole-door Ud values at or below 0.80 W/m²K. They can achieve airtightness to EN 12207, Class 4 (the highest European Standard for fenestration airtightness), or BS EN 12207:2000 Class 4, the UK equivalent.
How do sliding doors compare to bi-fold doors for thermal performance?
Sliding and lift-and-slide doors generally outperform bi-fold systems in thermal performance and airtightness.
Bi-fold configurations have a greater number of panel-to-panel seal junctions, each a potential source of air infiltration. For projects where fabric performance, airtightness targets, or Passive House certification are priorities, sliding or lift-and-slide is the stronger specification.
Are triple glazed sliding doors available in large sizes?
Yes. Norrsken's sliding doors are engineered for large openings, with track systems rated to carry triple-glazed panels up to approximately 8.5m total width on the S315A and 5.9m on the S319A, depending on height and configuration.
What frame materials are available for sliding doors?
Norrsken's sliding doors are available in alu-clad timber and all-timber configurations.
Alu-clad frames combine a laminated timber core, which delivers superior natural insulation, with a powder-coated aluminium exterior that requires no repainting and is available in any RAL colour. Marine-grade powder-coating is available for coastal and exposed locations.
Can I specify different colours inside and out on sliding doors?
Yes. Dual-colour finish is available on alu-clad products - any RAL colour externally with a different colour or natural timber stain internally. This is particularly useful where an external palette must coordinate with rendered or masonry façades while the interior finish complements internal joinery or room colour palette.
Are sliding doors draught-proof?
Norrsken's sliding doors use advanced multi-point weathersealing designed to resist wind-driven rain and minimise air infiltration.
Our systems achieve the highest airtightness performance ratings of EN 12207, Class 4 through compression sealing on closure. For projects with formal airtightness targets, such as those requiring ≤ 0.6 ACH @ 50 Pa (the Passive House threshold), sliding doors support excellent whole-envelope performance.
How secure are triple glazed sliding doors?
Norrsken's sliding doors incorporate multi-point locking systems and conform to PAS 24:2016, the UK's enhanced security standard for windows and doors. Triple-glazed laminated glass units are inherently more impact-resistant than double-glazed equivalents, and the robust timber-aluminium frames provide additional structural resistance to forced entry.
